Shawn & Annette Bradley are Example of Tall/Short Marriage
Life pg47 Feb00 P2
By Cokie Roberts &Steven V Roberts
Two very different people can make a perfect match.

In an article in the new issue of Life Magazine, ABC news anchor Cokie Roberts and her husband, political analyst Steven Roberts, use LDS Church members Shawn and Annette Bradley as an example of a marriage that overcame a striking difference: Pro-basketball player Shawn is 7-foot-6, while Annette is 5-foot-4.

The Bradleys say they are often asked "How do you kiss?" and "How do you sleep?" as people are amazed at the difference in height between them. "I've been tall my whole life. I've grown up with it, if you will," says Shawn, 27. "When we fell in love, Annette had no idea what happens in public because I'm tall. The way people treat us can be so intrusive."

The couple met while Shawn was playing in Philadelphia. Annette was giving a talk in Church when their eyes met and locked. Since Shawn was sitting, she had no idea how tall he was. Later, he asked for her phone number in front of a dinner part of 15, "No one else in the room was there, in my mind," he says. They took just two months to make the decision and get married.

For the Bradleys, marrying someone that was LDS was important. "Couples have trouble as it is," says Annette. "Shawn and I, we have our struggles. It's our faith that keeps us together."
