PROVO, UTAH -- LDS Church member Lois Johnson has been named
Outstanding High School Music Educator of the year by the Utah Music
Educators Association, according to the Utah County newspaper New
Utah. Johnson was given the award at the group's recent convention in
St. George, Utah.
Johnson was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 19 years and
was a BYU faculty member for 17 years, teaching voice. She is honored
by the designation and for the opportunity to be a teacher and friend
to so many students, "We build a bond that is closer than what
most teachers are able to have,'' Johnson says.
