The Young Women of the Church met with their leaders and mothers, in their
annual spring meeting, to hear words of counsel and inspiration from the
General Young Women's Presidency and President Faust of the First
Presidency. The theme of the conference echoed the general theme of the
Young Women's program--"stand as a witness".
President Faust encouraged the girls in their efforts to set and achieve
personal goals, stand for truth, and give service to those around them.
"You young women should have personal goals in addition to the excellent
goals outlined in the Young Women program,'' he said. "In the future, as in
the past, women will find happiness and fulfillment as they respond to the
deepest feelings of their souls."
Also speaking were the Young Women General President Margaret D. Nadauld,
and her counselors, Sister Carol B. Thomas and Sister Sharon G. Larsen.
Sister Nadauld urged the girls to use their good judgement as they "stand a
witness".
"Pay attention. Don't allow yourselves to be desensitized by gradual
lapses in good judgment," she said.
