LDS Digital Artists From New York Talk To BYU Students
BYU NewsNet 4Apr00 B2
By Kimberly DeMucha: NewsNet Staff Writer

PROVO, UTAH -- New York digital artists Devin and Kevin Shelley visited BYU on Wednesday, March 5th to host a student night and tell students about their multi-million dollar venture, SilverKid Digital Studios. The twin brothers started the company while students at BYU.

The entrepreneurs gave a presentation on mastering multimedia art forms and building successfull buisiness habits, and gave a day of classroom instruction and reviewed student portfolios. The presentation was sponsored by the Department of Visual Arts.

Kevin and Devin were the original media lab student directors at BYU's Brimhall Computer Lab. This led Kevin to join BYU's BFA program in 1990 while Devin studied microbiology. While still at BYU, they launched SilverKid, and started working with major players in the industry. "Our cinematic credits for special effects include Titanic, Species, Eraser, Space Jam and others. We have various advertising clients including, Intel, Coca Cola, ESPN, and DreamWorks," said Kevin Shelley.

The company has now merged into Sorceron, Inc., a software development company, and the new combined company will debut in June, according to Kevin. "My brother and I are now sharing the chief creative officer position for Sorceron Inc.," he said.
