  LDS Digital Artists From New York Talk To BYU Students

  PROVO, UTAH -- New York digital artists Devin and Kevin Shelley 
visited BYU on Wednesday, March 5th to host a student night and tell 
students about their multi-million dollar venture, SilverKid Digital 
Studios. The twin brothers started the company while students at BYU.
 The entrepreneurs gave a presentation on mastering multimedia art 
forms and building successfull buisiness habits, and gave a day of 
classroom instruction and reviewed student portfolios. The 
presentation was sponsored by the Department of Visual Arts.
 Kevin and Devin were the original media lab student directors at 
BYU's Brimhall Computer Lab. This led Kevin to join BYU's BFA program 
in 1990 while Devin studied microbiology. While still at BYU, they 
launched SilverKid, and started working with major players in the 
industry. "Our cinematic credits for special effects include Titanic, 
Species, Eraser, Space Jam and others. We have various advertising 
clients including, Intel, Coca Cola, ESPN, and DreamWorks," said 
Kevin Shelley.
 The company has now merged into Sorceron, Inc., a software 
development company, and the new combined company will debut in June, 
according to Kevin. "My brother and I are now sharing the chief 
creative officer position for Sorceron Inc.," he said.
