  Morning Edition 5Apr00 N1

PALMYRA, NEW YORK -- The new Palmyra, New York Temple received
national attention with a nearly 5-minute story about the new
building. The story, by Brenda Tremblay of NPR member station WXXI
(Rochester, New York), talks about the unique nature of the Temple
because of its location near the birthplace of Mormonism.
Morning Edition is broadcast on most public radio stations, generally
until about 9 a.m. each morning. A real audio version of the story
may be available at the above link later today - most, but not all,
morning edition stories are made available on the Internet.
Meanwhile, the LDS Church prepared for its historic broadcast of the
Temple's dedication tomorrow. The dedicatory sessions will be
available at Stake Centers and other meetinghouses throughout North
America by special recommend. The sessions will be at 9 a.m. Eastern
time and at 7 p.m. in each local time zone in the U.S. and Canada.
"The broadcast extends the temple into the stake centers.
Participants should consider them just as sacred as the temple during
the dedication," Steven Taylor, Assistant to the Area Authority
Seventy, said.
