Philadelphia PA Inquirer 11Apr00 S2
By Chris Morkides: Inquirer Suburban Staff
Although a very promising athlete during his freshman year, Haglund
always kept his religion foremost in his planning, and knew he would
serve a mission, as did his father and older brother. The article
describes the preparations young Haglund had to undergo before
reaching his final destination in Korea, as well as some of his
routines while there.
Haglund talks about the changes that a mission brought about in him
as well as his goals for the future which include trying to qualify
for the Division III outdoor national championships in the
steeplechase. Head coach Tom Donnelly says of the young athlete, "His
potential? He could be a national champion in the steeplechase."
