  FUKUOKA, JAPAN -- The Fukuoka Japan Temple dedication will be held on 
June 11th by Pres. Hinckley. Before the dedication and open house the 
Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shinbun carried an article about the 
temple and its open house.
 The article said the open house would be held on June 1-4.  In total, 
4,897 local people and seven media visited the temple during the open 
house.
 "The Fukuoka temple, the second LDS Temple in Japan, after the Tokyo 
Japan Temple, has several rooms including room for Doctrine study on 
approximately 2,500 square meters (25,000 square feet).  About 18,000 
members of LDS Church in Kyushu island, Shikoku island, and western 
part of the mainland of Japan called "Chu-goku" will use the Temple 
on and after June 11th, the next day the dedication ceremony will be 
held."
