Missionaries From Utah Experience Rain Like Never Before
Grand Forks ND Herald 21Jun00 D1
By Mikkel Pates: Herald Staff Writer
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA -- The worst flash flooding in Fargo's history
hit the city on Monday, June 19th following storms that dumped seven
inches of rain on the city. The flooding left many underpasses and
thoroughfares under 2 to 5 feet of water, leaving many people to say
home for the day or struggle to fight the water.
Two LDS missionaries were among those affected by the storms. Elders
Nicholas Weber and Jarom Grant were in the hardest hit area of Fargo
on Tuesday, where Pates of the Grand Forks Herald met them. The
Elders were overwhelmed and surprised at the extent of the flooding,
"Boy we never have anything like this in Utah," Weber told Pates.
