Re: LDS Senator's Dilemma Reveals How Science is Making Abortion More Difficult Issue
Dear Editor:
Michael Nielsen wrote:
Abortion has played an important role in previous Republican
conventions, but this year George W. Bush persuaded party members to
leave their antiabortion feelings out of the party platform.
Grampa Bill comments:
It is my understanding that the GOP did retain a strong antiabortion
plank in their platform. However, you are correct that the Right To Life
did not occupy any podium time.
As one who has served on the platform committee for the state
convention, I can tell you that the platform is meaningless in any
event. It has no force of law and little power of persuasion. The
results will depend on the winners of national office and the bills they
author, pass, and sign. Such bills are completely independent of the
platform on which the candidates run.
...nevertheless, Wicked Bill Clinton must be impeached... again...
and the Senate must convict this time.
Love y'all,
