Local Member Directs 'Annie, Get Your Gun'
LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA, CANADA -- A lot of productions have gone across
the stage of Lethbridge Musical Theatre in the last 36 years. Ed
Bayly has been involved with every one of them.
Bayly, a member of the Lethbridge 11th Ward, is currently directing a
modified production of "Annie, Get Your Gun" (based in 1885 on the character
of sharpshooter Annie Oakley). Concerned how the production originally
portrayed people of the Mohaw nation, Bayly was able to get permission from
the copyright owners to change the play after discussion with a Mohaw chief.
A highly accomplished actor and director, Bayly has earned numerous
accolades and awards. Most recently, the Playgoers of Lethbridge honoured
him with an "Outstanding Contribution to Community Theatre for more than 25
Years" award.
