MoTab To Tour Southern US
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will tour the southern
US next June, giving concerts in eight cities from June 15 to 27th. The
concert series, announced Saturday, is intended to bring the message that
the LDS Church is a Christian church to an area that widely believes otherwise.
The tour will include stops in Houston, Texas; Fort Worth, Texas; New
Orleans, Louisiana; Birmingham, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia; and in Tampa,
Orlando and Miami, Florida. Surprisingly, the choir has only performed in
three southern states before this tour, including a 1989 performance in
Orlando's Disneyworld.
The 330 voice choir will be accompanied by 17 musicians from the Orchestra
at Temple Square, who will perform with the choir.
