Two LDS Missionaries Mugged in Dallas
DALLAS, TEXAS -- Two LDS missionaries were attacked and beaten with a
baseball bat in a Dallas neighborhood on Tuesday, leaving one Elder
in the hospital with injuries that will take six weeks to heal. The
muggers attacked the Elders at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and escaped
with about $30 in cash.
Elder Burke Jensen, from Orem, Utah, and his companion, Elder Jason
Mortenson, of South Jordan, Utah, were on their way to visit a
recently baptised member when the attack occurred. Both Elders were
beaten, and Elder Jensen's injuries were critical enough to
hospitalize him at Baylor University Medical Center.
Dallas police report that several other similar attacks occurred on
the same day.
