Thc Association of Mormon Counselors &Psychotherapists (AMCAP) has awarded Elder Neal A. Maxwell and his wife Colleen it's Distinguished Service to Humanity Award. The award was presented at a banquet held in the Joseph Smith Memorial building in Salt Lake City on Thursday.

The award, AMCAP's highest honor, is given to Mormons who have demonstrated "outstanding service in the use of their time and talents for the enrichment of people's lives.". The association says that the Maxwells represent "potent, steady, and continual expressions of care and selfless humanitarian service, have touched Heavenly Father's children throughout the world. Their inspired leadership has contributed significantly to the promotion of mental and spiritual health."

In addition to their Church service, Sister Maxwell is a volunteer at the Spinal Bifida Clinic at Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City.
