Deseret News 12Nov99 P2
By Carma Wadley

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- A quilt being sold for charity at the 1999 Holiday Quilt Show in Salt Lake City honors those that have had family members or friends die from Cancer, including a number of well-known members of the LDS Church. LDS General Authority Neal Maxwell, billionaire philanthropist Jon Huntsman and former LDS Relief Society Presidency member Chieko Okazaki all contributed to the quilt.

The quilt will be auctioned off on Friday following the 7 p.m. dinner. Proceeds will benefit the Deseret Foundation, which funds research and educational activities at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Elder Maxwell has struggled with cancer himself, and Jon Huntsman lost his father to cancer. Sister Okazaki's husband died from cancer.
