CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA -- Bro. Chuck Harvey, the first bishop in Cedar Rapids
talks a lot about the hot rods he has built in his younger days. Though he
has an incomplete 55 Chevy project car sitting in is garage for the last 20
years, nothing about this soft-spoken senior citizen suggests he's the type
to pop the clutch and lay rubber anymore.
Instead, he occupies his days as the owner/operator of Lilly Printing Co. in
Cedar Rapids. He is a man in love with is work who sees no need to retire
though he just celebrated his 66 birthday and his 50th year in the printing
business.
What lights up his face today is the promise that he and his wife Rosemary
someday will have the opportunity to work in the temple at Nauvoo, Ill.,
when it is completed. "It's the biggest thrill," he said quietly. They are
serving now one day a month at the Chicago temple and he is the clerk in his
ward.
