Three singing sisters who began performing together years ago for an
MIA June Conference are the musical core of a singing LDS family who
have just released a CD. The Allen Family is extended group of talented
performers, now up to 24 in number.
Mom Dixie Allen says while some of naturally musical, the rest have
worked hard to develop their talents. "I never let them just bang on a
drum or bang on the piano when they were little. They had to try to
play something."
The family held an open house in Farmington, Utah, recently to launch
their holiday offering "Our Gift of Christmas." It includes a variety of
familiar tunes, along with an original number written by Dixie Allen.
As for what the future may hold, Dixie says, "In this family, whatever
the kids do depends on God and their desires."
