From time to time anyone reading Mormon-News will discover that a link on Mormon-News doesn't work for some reason. While we try to make sure that these links are correct when we post them, sometimes we overlook something, and other times the link disappears or has changed. Here's what you can do about it.
Why Links go Bad:
Of course the volunteers that help at Mormon-News are not perfect, so it is likely that some links will be bad simply because of human error: we mispell a URL, we switch things around, or make a similar error. Of course we would like to correct these links! If this is the case, simply send us a note.
Other times, the link may be bad because the server is temporarily down or reacting incorrectly. Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can do about these links.
However, News links are particularly vulnerable to problems because they simply expire. Many newspapers remove the pages after a day or a week or a month or more simply because they don't think that the item is news any more. Other times they move the page to another URL, simply because it is older.
It is often worth looking to see if an article has moved, especially if it is on our list of newspapers that commonly move pages. If you can, please read our list of suggestions for finding news artilces that have moved, and let us know where the URL is now, if you have found it.
How to report:
Simply send an e-mail message to klarsen@MormonsToday.com. In the message please make sure you include:
- The new URL (if you could find it).
- The URL of the Mormon-News page that had the link.
- A description of exactly what the problem is. If you get an error message that you don't understand, please feel free to copy and paste it into the message.
