LINCOLN, NEBRASKA -- In a review of the University of Nebraska's track
team and their upcoming season, reporter Derowitsch says that LDS Church
member Janet Dutton has returned to the women's track team following two
years on an LDS mission. Dutton was a star on the University of Nebraska
team two years ago, setting a collegiate record in the indoor
pentathlon.
Coach Gary Pepin is realistic about Dutton's ability to get back into
track, however. "I think she'll get back to that same level, but it will
take some time," he said. Coaches in other sports have also noticed that
returning LDS missionaries take some time to get back to previous
performance levels.
