LDS Missionary In Missouri Held On Sex Charges
Salt Lake Tribune 24Apr00 N1
HAZELWOOD, MISSOURI -- The Tribune reports that an LDS missionary
serving in Hazelwood, Missouri has been arrested on three charges of
sexual misconduct. Elder Kevin Gill, 23, of Littleton, Colorado, was
arrested after he exposed himself to fifth- and sixth-grad girls at
McNair Elementary School.
The girls' parents complained to police, who arrested Gill on Thursday.
They were able to track Gill down after someone got a partial license
plate number following the incident. Gill did not make any physical
contact with the girls, according to the report, which the Tribune
credits to Kevin Cantera.
LDS Church spokesperson Dale Bills told the Tribune Sunday that if the
charges prove accurate, the Church may take disciplinary action. "Our
missionaries are expected to live up to the highest ethical and moral
standards," said Bills, "A missionary who breaks the law faces church
discipline in addition to any legal punishment."
