Millar at Front of US Volleyball, Dantzscher and Savickas Out

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -- US Volleyball player Ryan Millar was second on
the team, with 16 points as the US lost to Argentina in a
disappointing preliminary game, called the biggest upset yet of the
Olympics. Millar's performance was all but unstoppable as he tried to
keep the US in the game. Meanwhile, Laura Berg, center fielder for
the US softball team, witnessed one of the rarities of baseball-like
sports as teammate Lori Harrigan pitched a perfect game, leading the
US to defeat Canada 6-0. Berg went 1 for 3 during the game.
Disappointingly, Lithuanian swimmer Arunas Savickas won his heat, but
wasn't fast enough to qualify for the semifinals, loosing the
opportunity by nearly 2 seconds. Jamie Dantzscher of the US
Gymnastics team fared little better, failing to qualify for the
individual competition and performing relatively poorly on the Vault
and Floor Exercises, and not competing on the Uneven Bars or the
Beam. She was last on the US team, which did qualify as a team.
