Newlyweds Die in Tragic Accident
PORT RADIUM, CANADA - Derek and Bev Tilson were very happy to see
their middle son Colin marry Mary Ellingson, the third of eleven
children born to John and Janice Ellingson of Pincher Creek, AB.
Colin,, 21 and an avid guitar player, and Mary, 23 and an
Aeronautical Mechanics student, were married in the LDS chapel in
Waterton Lakes National Park on 16 September 2000.
Less than a month later, the joy that many felt on that day turned to
sorrow when the couple was killed in a tragic flying accident near
Port Radium, NT. Colin was a pilot for Yellowknife-based Summit Air,
and it was while he was working that the accident occurred.
Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Pincher Creek Ward
meetinghouse, and Bishop Ken Butler conducted the service.
