  Despite News Reports, Reid Says Not Looking at BYU Job
Despite news reports in the Philadelphia Inquirer that LDS officials were trying to influence Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid to replace LaVell Edwards at BYU, on Saturday Reid again emphasized that he is not looking at the job. "I'm not even addressing that," Reid said yesterday. "There's nothing there. . . . I'm still looking to see who my 'friend' is." The Inquirer cited a 'friend' who claimed that LDS Church official had spoken to Reid about the job.

Australian scientist Charles Davis is trying to do the impossible -- rank athletes of different sports and different times against each other to determine the greatest athlete of all time. His solution measures how much better athletes are than their peers, and mentions LDS athlete Steve Young as one of the best in professional football, but not as high as his #1 pick, Cricket star Don Bradman.

  Pochman Named To Lou Groza Award Top-20 List
The Palm Beach County Sports Commission today announced BYU kicker Owen Pochman as one of 20 finalists for the ninth-annual Lou Groza Collegiate Place-kicker Award, presented by the FedEx Orange Bowl.

  BYU Reaches 20 Wins With 3-0 Victory Over New Mexico
Three Cougars recorded double-digit kills as No. 14 BYU finished the regular season with a three-game defeat of New Mexico, 15-11, 15-6, 15-4, Saturday at the Johnson Center. BYU improved its overall record to 20-6, and won its last nine consecutive conference games to finish with a 12-2 mark.
