Moving Beyond Politics And Music, Hatch To Appear In Movie
WASHINGTON, DC -- Nearly everyone knows of Utah Senator Orrin G. Hatch's
political stature and many know of his songwriting. Now, Hatch, who is an
LDS Church member, may become known for appearing in a film. Along with many
other Washington politicians, Hatch got to play himself by simply attending
a party and talking politics with other politicians, and with actor Michael
Douglas.
The appearance comes through producer Laura Bickford, who invited Hatch and
many other Washington insiders to a party in a Georgetown townhouse where
they were filmed talking about drug policy with each other and with Douglas,
star of the drug-war thriller "Traffic" that Bickford is producing.
Bickford says that she go many more participants than she expected, delaying
the filming of other parts of the movie, which is due out January 12th. It
is too early to say whether Hatch or any of the politicians will actually
appear in the movie, or end up on the cutting room floor.
