MoTab Christmas Album Called Their Best Ever |
Reviews of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's
latest Christmas album call it the choir's best Christmas album ever
-- out of more than 20 that the group has recorded since 1945. The
album, called "A Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas," was released
recently by the Telarc label, and is reviewed positively in the Salt
Lake Tribune and on the Amazon.com website. However another review
takes issue with the album, calling it "over-produced." |

Billboard Magazine's December 23rd issue
reports that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's most recent album, "A
Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas," has made its list of the top 10
selling classical albums for the week. The album has been called the
Choir's best Christmas album ever. |

In filming the final scenes of a biographical movie about
themselves, all nine children of George and Olive Osmond have arrived in
Winnipeg from all over the United States this weekend. |
New Card Book Hits Bestseller Lists Before Publication |
As the paperback of Orson Scott Card's "Ender's
Shadow" rises on bestseller lists after its release, fans have been
attracted to Card's forthcoming book, "Shadow of the Hegemon,"
scheduled to be published in January. Both books follow a secondary
character in Card's award-winning "Ender's Game." "Shadow of the
Hegemon" joined the Mormon titles on the bestseller lists, appearing
on Amazon's not-yet-published list, while two titles, Martha Nibley
Beck's "Expecting Adam" and a book about MTV's Real World and its
Mormon character, dropped off the lists. |
Three Artists Collaborate on Christmas CD |
"December Tales" is a new Christmas CD
pulled together with the talents of three outstanding LDS artists -
composer/lyricist Robert Stoddard, baritone John Huntsman, and writer
Scott Card. The original music and lyrics to the 16 carols create a
fresh new addition to the LDS cannon of Christmas music. |
Excel Announces Creation of New Children's Record Label |
Excel Entertainment Group, Inc. has announced
the creation of a new record label. Little Stream Records will join
Highway Records, Embryo Records and Joyspring Records as a member of
the Excel Entertainment Group label family. |
