Bestsellers: Titles on National Lists Drop to Two
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- The number of Mormon titles on US National bestseller
lists have dropped to just two as Orson Scott Card's "Shadow of the Hegemon"
dropped off the lists, and Martha Nibley Beck's "Finding Your Own North
Star" hits a lull just before its release on the 20th. Beck's book is likely
to return in the near future. The newly released paperback of President
Gordon B. Hinckley's "Standing for Something" may also hit the lists as it
gets distribution.
On the LDS list, Greg Olsen's "Expressions of Faith" jumped up to the top
spot just above the Teachings of President Gordon B. Hinckley. New on the
list is Anita Canfield's "By Small and Simple Things" and Mary Ellen
Edmund's "Happiness: Finders, Keepers." The LDS list may see a significant
changes in the next few weeks as the April General Conference effect changes
what titles are purchased.
The current titles on US National bestseller lists are:
Nothing Like it in the World, by Stephen Ambrose
A history of the building of the transcontinental railroad in the US.
Ambrose, a highly regarded historian, details the involvement of
Mormons in building crucial portions of the road, including the
driving of the "golden spike" in the heart of Mormon territory.
