LDS Adult Conference scheduled for East Coast
BUENA VISTA, VIRGINIA -- Several outstanding Latter Day Saint
speakers and musicians will come together in Virginia on June 21st
through 23rd. Our own adult education conference is a wonderful
opportunity and we don't even have to travel to B.Y.U.
Speakers for the conference include Elder Lionel Kendrick (First
Quorum ofthe Seventy and US East Area Presidency), Dale and Laura
Lebaron (former mission president in Africa and BYU religion
professor with an emphasis in Church History), Jeffrey Marsh (BYU
religion professor with an emphasis in Ancient Scripture), and Abbie
Vianes (Utah Governor's Women's Commission). Musical performers
include Jenny Naylor Richards (pianist), Robert E. Lee (vocalist),
Dr. Philip Townsend (instrumentalist) and others.
This program takes place from Thursday evening through Saturday
morning. It is a wonderful opportunity for a weekend together as a
couple or to spend some time with friends being spiritually fed. The
setting is beautiful at Southern Virginia College, the food is very
good.
This event has been sold out in the past but currently has some
opening but you need to move quickly as there are but seven days
left. Contact Southern Va. College at Ph: (540) 261-4123 if you are
interested.
I am not associated with the college but have attended this wonderful
event for the past four years. I have enjoyed hearing Sherry Dew,
Cheiko Okasaki, Truman and Ann Madsen, Ardeth Kapp and President
Hinckley's daughter Virginia Pearce to name a few. Let's support this
wonderful opportunity we have in our own backyard.
