Deseret Book Donates 54 Albums To KZION

ST. GEORGE, UT -- Deseret Book, a publishing company owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently offered to donate over 50 music albums to KZION LDS Internet Radio, the only independent, Internet-based music radio station which caters to members of the Church.

The donation not only ranks as the highest donation to date, surpassing Heartrise's May donation of 27, but according to John Hesch, Program Manager for KZION, it almost doubles the number of titles soon to be available on KZION. "Before today we had over 1000 titles that were either available for listening at KZION or were being added to the database. We haven't counted each song from these new albums, but we estimate that we have close to 700 additional titles."

Many Latter-day Saints know Deseret Book for its retail stores or the books it publishes, but they may not be aware of its music division. "Much of the music available to KZION presently from Deseret Book are titles under the Shadow Mountain label," says Kim Siever, Public Relations Manager for KZION. "The genres that Shadow Mountain completely reflect the styles we like to play on KZION. They have everything from classical to contemporary to inspirational. Some of the artists which KZION listeners will find familiar are Brett Raymond, Kurt Bestor, Jenny Oaks Baker, Michael McLean and Hilary Weeks."

Larry Beck, Sales Manager for KZION and the key player in arranging the donation, says that the new albums are more than just new music. "This donation signifies the beginning of a strategic partnership between KZION and Deseret Book. We are excited to be working with Deseret Book now, and in the future."

KZION accepts donations of albums from distributors and independent artists to be played on the air. Fell free to contact John Hesch at kzion@brassplates.net for further information.

KZION is available on the Internet at http://www.kzion.com .
