Another LDS Chapel Vandalized in Utah |
The current wave of vandalism against churches in
the Salt Lake Valley continued last week when the Rose Park North Stake
Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was vandalized.
The damage was discovered at 8 am Friday by a maintenance worker, who called
on local church members to help clean up the building for events scheduled
that day. |
After Early Opposition, North Yarmouth Maine Will Get LDS Chapel |
In spite of some early resistance from neighbors,
the North Yarmouth branch will get a new 13,000-square-foot chapel in the
next year or so. Local and state government bodies approved the Church's
plans last month, after they were modified to meet neighbor's concerns.
Construction should begin in August, "We hope to be in within a year," said
long-time branch member Jean Bibber. "It will be almost 10 years since we
formed the [branch]." |

Ricks College has a record 2,282 students attending its
second five-week term of summer school. This is a 288-student increase from
the 1,994 students who attended last year at the same time. |

increase from the 1,994 students who attended last year at the same
time. Statistics for the second term show students are taking an
average load of 4.6 credits. There are 1,016 freshmen and 1,266
sophomores; 905 males and 1,377 females; 965 from Idaho, 263 from
Utah, 180 from California and 145 from Washington. |
