LDS Employment Office in Tacoma Profiled
TACOMA, WASHINGTON -- The LDS Church already has an employment
network in place. In Washington the network includes 10 centers which
have seen an increase in visitors of 20 percent as the Washington
State jobless rate has risen to 7 percent. While the center are
primarily for Church members, they take all comers, providing job
assistance and training at no charge and allowing visitors to use
church computers to surf the Internet for jobs. The centers in
Washington have been operating for at least 20 years.
