Winslet may star in controversial LDS playwright's 'Bash' (Winslet eyes U.K. 'Bash')

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Neil LaBute's controversial show, "Bash" will premiere in the Alameida Theatre in London on February 2nd, but star Calista Flockhart will not be joining the show. Instead, "Titanic" star Kate Winslet is in negotiations to take Flockhart's two roles in the trio of one-act plays.

"Bash" gained notariety for its portrayal of horrific acts and situations. In "Medea Redux," a woman, played by Flockhart in the New York production, recounts her horrifying adolescent affair with a schoolteacher. "A Gaggle of Saints," portrays two Mormon college students who become involved in gay bashing and "Iphigenia in Orem" features a businessman who confesses to a horrific crime.

The other stars of the show, Paul Rudd and Ron Eldard, will reprise their roles in the London production.
