Winifred Durrant of Provo is still active in humanitarian projects at age
78. Among her recent projects are putting together 250 infant kits which
include two handmade diapers, a handmade gown, a receiving blanket, bar of
soap, a hand-crocheted hat, booties and diaper pins to be sent to third
world countries; piecing together patchwork quilts for Kosovo; and making
beanbag toys out of material scraps.
Most of her projects are given out through the LDS Humanitarian Center. The
Center is organized and operated by the LDS Church, but is a
non-denominational service, helping people throughout the world, regardless
of religion.
