LDS Student escapes injury at Texas A&M
While rumors have circulated that an LDS student might have been
injured in the tragic collapse of a log structure at Texas A&M
University in College Station Texas, Institute Director Tom McMullin
reports that no LDS students were injured in the accident. One LDS
student was involved, however, and was on the second tier of the
structure when it collapsed, but managed to escape harm.
While none of the LDS students were involved, McMullin says that they
have been deeply affected by the tragedy, "A number of LDS students
were acquainted with individuals who lost their lives, however, and
all our students have been deeply touched by this tragedy.
Fortunately, the gospel provides a cushion of comfort and support at
times like this. The two student wards, as well as the institute,
have been deeply involved in providing support not only to members,
but to the university as a whole."
