BYU, Utah Plagued By Mountain West Parity, Bowl Uncertainty
In the wake of BYU's loss to the University
of Utah on Saturday, both schools are facing uncertainty about what
bowl games, if any, they will play in. The difference between the two
schools is that BYU expected to play in a bowl game, while Utah was a
long shot.
Swept! CSU overpowers BYU for volleyball crown
BYU's women's volleyball team, champions of the
Mountain West Conference's inaugural season, were swept by Colorado
State in the Mountain West Conference tournament championship, held
at BYU on Saturday. Surprisingly, the tournament wasn't the close
five-game battle many expected, but a wipe-out, with CSU beating BYU
15-8, 15-8, 15-12. The loss snapped the Cougars' 28-match home win
streak and placed in doubt just who is the best team in the MWC.

The effort also led to commissioning a reform body that last month
recommended sweeping changes. If adopted the rules could affect the group's
fundamental approach to the Olympics, from selecting host cities to testing
