Washington DC Temple gets Parks Commission tour (Trip to Morman Temple)
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Washington DC Temple in Kensington, Maryland
has achieved such a landmark status that the Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission is sponsoring a trip December
7th for seniors to visit. The government-funded commission, which
operates the parks for Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties, the
two suburban Maryland counties bordering Washington DC, is apparently
charging seniors $4 to transport them by van from Camp Springs,
Maryland, in southern Prince Georges County, to the Temple in
Montgomery County.
The tour will allow the seniors to "view multimedia presentations,
videos, statues and holiday decorations," evidently those provided
for free by the Temple visitor's center. The tour will also take all
day, lasting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The listing in the Post is unfortunately marred by the misspelling "Morman."
