Cosmo has a sensational article this month by former polygamous wife Sarah Foster, who tells her story of living in and escape from a Mormon polygamous clan in Utah. She says of polygamy, "Even though I had been raised to believe that this was the way God wanted me to live, deep down inside I knew it wasn't right. That's why, four years ago, I put my life in danger and escaped from my husband."

In the article, Foster tells of her feelings on discovering that her lifestyle was unusual, compared with other kids at a public school she was allowed to attend one year. She also tells of her attempts to leave polygamy and how she was deceived by the man who she later married. Her story also includes leaving the family several times and why she went back when her husband begged her. In the end, however, Sarah left her husband for good and is now studying for a college degree.
