LDS writer tells of 'Christmas Where It Happened'

LDS Church member Kathleen Lubeck Peterson has again written an article for the Times' On Faith column, this time covering her experience in Israel during Christmastime. Peterson, a former seminary teacher in her ward, reminisces about the trip, contrasting how different Christmas in the U. S. is with the Christmas she spent in Israel, and how that Christmas must have been different than the night of Christ's birth.

Despite illness Brown has big plans for the future

Brian Brown may find himself a little short of breath but not short of energy. Brown is a student member of the governing board of Utah's nine colleges and universities. He is an admitted overachiever from South Jordan and has been president of Weber State University and previously served as president of his Bingham High senior class. He was WSU's man of the year and homecoming king.

BYU prof bleaches his hair after class raises $18,000 for charity

BYU professor Brett Latimer is sporting a new look these days... at least until his hair grows back in. Brother Latimer teaches American Heritage. For the past seven years, professors in the course have challenged students to donate time or money to the "Sub for Santa" program. Each year, one professor motivates the students by offering to carry out an unusual stunt if the classes hit a predetermined goal.
