LDS Apostle Oaks to Marry August 24th |
The LDS Church's Public Affairs Office
confirmed today that Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Church's Quorum of
the Twelve Apostles is getting married for the second time next week.
Elder Oaks is scheduled to marry Kristen McMain in the Salt Lake
Temple on August 24th. Elder Oaks' previous wife, June, died July 21,
1998. |

Pioneering LDS Woman Surgeon Dies |
Dr. Lenore Richards, 82, one of Utah's first
women surgeons died Monday, August 14, 2000 after a brief illness.
Richards, who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints, was named "Doctor of the Year" by the Utah State Medical
in 1983. |
Mormon Parowan Roots Explored |
Carol Wright, a 94-year-old Utah resident is
highlighted in this article. Wright, who lives in Parowan, a
community settled in 1861, thereby making it one of Utah's oldest
towns has a sourdough starter that has been used for over 100 years.
The starter has been used all over the country, including being used
in the Governor's mansion in Utah. |
