  LDS Hockey Player Gets Second Shot at Pros
John Shockey, the Cleveland Lumberjacks defenseman, received a Utah hometown welcome while playing one of four games for the Grizzlies, even though he never lived in Utah. Shockey, a Lethbridge, Alberta native is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The southern part of Alberta is predominately Mormon, but Salt Lake City is the home of the LDS church.

  Y Women Kickers Clinch MWC Regular Season Title With Win Over Wyoming
Two goals in each half was more than enough for BYU's 15th ranked women's soccer team to pick up its first MWC regular season title with the 4-1 victory over Wyoming, Saturday.

  Two Road Games For 11th Ranked Cougar Women Finish Off 2000 Regular Season
After clinching its first regular season MWC title with wins over Air Force and Wyoming, the 11th ranked BYU women's soccer team is back on the road with games against Minnesota and ASU. The Cougars play the Golden Gophers in Tempe on Oct. 27 and ASU in Tucson on Oct. 28. Kick off for both games is set for 7 p.m.

  Cougars Prepare for Cowboys on Thursday Night Tilt
After a heart-breaking, 16-15, loss to San Diego State on Saturday, the Cougars will have less than a week to prepare for Wyoming (1-7, 0-4), who will be looking for its first Conference win of the season. After beating Central Michigan on Sept. 16, the Cowboys have lost five straight games, including their first four league games.
