SLOC Turns Down Scout Volunteers |
Scout officials at the Great Salt Lake Council of
the Boy Scouts were confused when they learned that Scout volunteers would
not be welcome for the 2002 Winter Olympic games. The officials have worked
with the committee under the assumption that Scouts could volunteer, as they
did at the Atlanta games, and were surprised when the SLOC made its decision
known and refused to talk with the Scouts about it. |
Crowton Retains Defensive Staff |
BYU head football coach Gary Crowton today announced
he would retain the current defensive coaching staff at BYU,
including Ken Schmidt, Barry Lamb, Tom Ramage and Brian Mitchell. |
BYU Signs Three Key Junior College Recruits |
BYU head football coach Gary Crowton today announced
the signing of three junior college players. John Denney (Ricks JC),
Ryan Keele (Ricks JC) and Spencer Nead (Ricks JC) have each signed a
National Letter of Intent and will transfer to BYU beginning in
January. |
Whiting Leads Cougars to Win in his BYU Debut |
Trent Whiting scored a game-high 22 points in his
long-awaited BYU debut, and Mekeli Wesley knocked in two free throws
with eight seconds to play, as the Cougars held off Utah State 69-67
Saturday at the Marriott Center. BYU improves to 6-2 on the season
with the win, while the Aggies drop to 6-2. |
