Family Breaks Into Closed Jordan River Temple |
TV news reports in Utah say that today a family
forced their way into the LDS Church's Jordan River Temple, which is closed
for the holidays, leading to an altercation with police. The family,
including children ranging in age from infant to eight years old, was
discovered on a third floor room, attempting to pray. |

In the late 19th-centry, many brand-new
Canadians were quickly realising how harsh life was in an area of the
country which had been painted as a land of plenty. In order to maintain control over the entire territory, the Canadian
government had to quickly settle the west. They knew the dry,
timberless land would not appeal to locals, so they started large
marketing campaigns in eastern Europe and the United States,

Independence Gingerbread Houses Called 'Imaginative' |
The LDS Church's Visitor's Center at
Independence, Missouri was called a "testament to the imagination and
holiday spirit" of the LDS Church members there in an article in the
Kansas City Star. The Visitor's Center exhibit includes 85
gingerbread constructions depicting landmark buildings from around
the world. The exhibit's theme is "Good Tidings of Great Joy ... to
All People." |
