Angel Moroni Placed Atop Campinas Temple
CAMPINAS, BRAZIL -- Today was a great day for the Church in Campinas.
At just after 12:00 noon, a group of local members, including the
Area President, several Area Authorities, the Mission President and
nine stake presidents and their families watched as a gold-leaf
statue of the Angel Moroni was placed atop the Campinas Temple.
With the placement of the Angel Moroni, the exterior of the temple is
essentially complete, and interior work will now move ahead even more
quickly. Landscaping is beginning to take shape, and the overall
sense is that the final phases of construction will be finished
before we know it.
No dates have been announced for the proposed completion or
dedication, and no callings have been announced regarding the
president and matron of the temple. Beyond that, the local interest
in the temple grows each day. The site has become instantly
recognizable as the most beautiful building in Campinas, and
curiosity about the temple and its purposes is running high. Members
and non-members alike have commented on how the temple is quickly
becoming a very significant part of Campinas.
