Marriott, Bulgari Announce New Hotel Chain |
The Marriott Corporation announced Tuesday that it had
reached an agreement to start a new hotel brand with the Italian luxury
goods maker. The joint venture calls for each company to invest up to $140
million in about a dozen 150 to 200-room Bulgari hotels over the next five
years. The chain will cater to 'movie stars and models' according to one
report. |
Article on Restaurant Recalls LDS Businessman Thomas Dee |
A recent Ogden Standard-Examiner article tells the history of
GrayCliff Lodge, now a restaurant in Odgen Canyon, but once the home of the
family of LDS businessman Thomas D. Dee. The Dee name lives in Odgen's
landmark McKay-Dee Hospital and in Weber State University's Dee Events
Center, but only the hospital's website tells the story of the beloved
businessman and philanthropist, for whose funeral the city schools were closed. |
Mormon Stock Index off Broadly |
Most stocks on the Mormon Stock Index declined last
week as investors took a more critical look at the stocks in their
portfolios. The index declined nearly 4 points (3%) while the Dow Jones
Industrials fell less than 1% and the Nasdaq fell over 7%. |
