Brigham City Makes $103,000 for Weekend, Less Per Screen than 'God's Army'
HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA -- Weekend box office results for Richard Dutcher's
newest film, "Brigham City" were a respectable $103,629 from 51 screens in
Arizona, California, Idaho and Nevada. The results exceeded those of last
years' "God's Army", which took in $88,584. But on a per screen basis, the
film didn't do as well, grossing a solid $2,032., much less than the
previous movie's $7,382. The results put Brigham City 33rd in weekend gross
among the films on Yahoo's movies page, and 28th in terms of gross per screen.
Still, "Brigham City" has received solid reviews in several national
publications, and will expand to another six screens this coming weekend,
including screens in Oregon and Hawaii. Later this month the movie should
also open in Colorado, Texas and Washington.
