Bestsellers: Marie Osmond's Postpartum Depression Book Hits Bestseller List
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Marie Osmond's book about her struggle with
postpartum depression jumped onto the Amazon.com 100 in the first few
days of May as the book was first released. Osmond's account has
caught the attention of many women who have struggled with the same
thing, with some reports claiming that Osmond has given a name to the
feeling that many women have following childbirth.
The book has also been noticed for its admission that Osmond was
sexually abused by someone outside of the family, who temporarily had
access to her. According to the book, that abuse also contributed to
the depression.
Meanwhile, few titles changed on the LDS bestseller list. The only
new titled is "Arise and Shine Forth," a compilation of talks from
last year's BYU Women's Conference. The top three titles remained in
the same positions they had last week, led by the new paperback
version of President Gordon B. Hinckley's book, "Standing for
Something." The revised edition of Leonard Arrington and Susan
Arrington Madsen's book, "Mothers of the Prophets" rejoined the list
this week.
The current titles on US National bestseller lists are:
