Even More Singles Websites
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- With new singles websites appearing nearly
every week, it seems like the audience for these sites will be
saturated any day now. This week we have LDS Contact, LDS Singles
Connection and Mormon Singles from Ukraine added to the mix.
But the singles websites aren't the most interesting this week. The
site for a new monthly print magazine, Desert Saints says its free
publication will premiere in October, while the new LDS Military site
shows promise as a service for Church members serving their country.
Newly Listed Mormon Websites:
Abinadi Prophet of God
Contains basic information about Abinadi as well as the text of
Mosiah 16 and 17. Also includes a moderated discussion forum, LDS
links and many articles. However, the site never states its purpose,
and the authorship and copyright status of its "selected articles"
isn't clear.
Canada Edmonton Mission Alumni
Missionary alumni page for the Canada Edmonton mission. Includes an
alumni database, recent news, a message board, etc.
Desert Saints
New monthly magazine aimed at members of the LDS Church in the Las
Vegas area. Site contains subscription information, advertising
information, pickup locations and contact information for the
magazine, which will premiere in October 2001.
Inspiring Artworks
Sculpture by LDS artist Dee Jay Bawden. Site includes images of his
sculptures of Christ, which can be ordered online.
Latino SUD
Spanish-language site for LDS Church members. Currently contains just
1 Nephi in Spanish from the Book of Mormon.
LDS Contact
Portal for LDS Singles. Includes singles profiles, Romance tips and
ideas, a quiz, a forum, a bulletin board, a chat room, online help,
easy navigation and LDS resources.
LDS Homeschooling in California
Support site for LDS parents in California homeschooling their
children. Includes links to an associated email discussion group,
education and homeschooling articles, suggested reading, quotes from
LDS General Authorities, favorite scriptures, virtual fieldtrips, an
LDS student's reading list and LDS Copywork.
LDS Military
Site to help those serving in the military to find local
congregations at a new base. Currently contains information on US
military bases in Altus, Oklahoma; Fairchild Air Force Base,
Washington; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Shafter, Hawaii;
Hurlburt Field, Florida; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
LDS Singles Connection
LDS dating service that currently claims 35,000 profiles on line.
Lorrie's LDS Young Women's Page
Site describing the LDS Young Women's program. Provides ideas for the
program, and links to Young Women, LDS and other sites.
Mormon Singles from Ukraine
Marriage service that allows users to meet Mormon women from the Ukraine.
Virtual Visiting Teachers
Visiting teaching support site. Includes monthly visiting teaching
message, a printable blank calendar and hymns and pictures for the
monthly message.
