LDS Man Missing in Pentagon Attack
WASHINGTON, DC -- Mormon News subscribers reported today that an LDS
man, Brady Howell, 26, is one of the 126 people reported missing by
the US Department of Defense because of the attack on the Pentagon
Tuesday. Howell, a member of the Crystal City Ward in Arlington,
Virginia worked for the US Navy as a civilian employee.
According to an email message sent by Bishop Stanley J. Arceneaux to
the members of his ward Wednesday, Howell was at his post on Tuesday
when a jet hijacked by terrorists slammed into the building.
Currently the Navy lists his status as 'missing.'
Howell is a returned missionary who served in Spain's Canary Islands.
He graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Political Science and went
on to earn a Masters degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell
School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. From
there he took an assignment as a Presidential Management Intern
working for the Chief of Naval Operations where he worked as a
Strength Planner for the Enlisted Plans and Policy Branch. He was
recently responsible for developing a drug screening policy for new
enlistments.
Bishop Arceneaux requested the prayers of his ward in behalf of
Howell and his wife, Liz.
Howell joins Kaysville, Utah grandmother Mary Alice Wahlstrom, 75,
and her daughter Carolyn Beug, 48 as the only known LDS victims in
the terrorist attacks. Wahlstrom and Beug were passengers on an
American Airlines flight 11, scheduled to travel from Boston to Los
Angeles.
