Missionary Mail to Brazil; Sites Selling Books

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Several of the websites that have shown up as new this week are selling unique LDS books, outside of normal LDS bookstores. These sites are selling original hymnbooks, books of gospel-centered Family Home Evening activites and a local LDS history. In addition, a new mail delivery service speeds up delivery of mail to LDS missionaries in Brazil and a home teaching service tries to help wards and home teachers track what they are doing.

The mail delivery service, BrazilMissions.com, takes letters over the Internet, printing them out and mailing them using domestic, first-class mail to missionaries serving in Brazil, significantly speeding up the delivery in the process by avoiding the international leg of the delivery. Home Teaching Tracker essentially provides the same kind of software available in the home teaching functions in the LDS Church's MIS software, but makes it publicly available on the Internet.

Newly Listed Mormon Websites:

BrazilMissions.com

Mail delivery service. Bypasses international mail by processing text letters sent to them over the Internet, printing them in Brazil and mailing them domestically to missionaries serving there.

Early LDS Hymns

Contains information on reprint of two hymnbooks with more than 140 hymns used during 1836 to 1846. Unlike in the original hymnbooks, the texts of the hymns are paired with their original tunes, or similar tunes from that time.

A Family Season

Site selling book of gospel principle-centered Family Home Evening activities.

History of the Saints in Trinidad &Tobago

Site selling e-book version of a history of the LDS Church in Trinidad & Tobago. Includes two books, software to view the books and many photos and information about Church members in this Caribbean country.

Home Teaching Tracker

On-line service that allows Wards and Branches to track their hometeaching on-line. Quorum presidents can enter home teaching lists and home teachers can then record the visits they make.

LDS Patchwork Families

Support site for 'step families' -- those created after divorces and second marriages. Site offers free email counseling, information about 'patchwork families,' an e-zine, articles and editorials and a members area.

Steve &Kim Shreeve

Personal page on LDS couple seeking to adopt. Gives information about them and their families.

Unofficial UCLA Ward Web Site

Unofficial Site for the UCLA Ward. Includes text of talks given in the ward, links to a handful of LDS websites, directions to the ward building and a calendar.
