LDS First Presidency Sends Letter Urging Water Conservation
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Concerned with local drought conditions, the First
Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sent a letter
September 10th to local leaders in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and
California, urging them to conserve water and encourage their neighbors to
do the same. The letter urged members to be good citizens and support local
water-conservation measures and said that the Church is implementing
water-saving practices at local meetinghouses and other Church facilities.
The letter also asked members to pray for rain.
