Set Sail Launched on Sea Trek
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Enoch Train, the Americana Folk Hymn group, released
its second album, fittingly named Set Sail, after returning from the decks
of the Statsraad Lehmkuhl, the flag-ship of Sea Trek 2001.
The fabulous Set Sail was inspired by the pioneers who sacrificed by leaving
their homelands in Europe to set sail on an adventure to claim their new
home in the United States. The epic, heroic and sometimes untold stories are
all communicated in Enoch Train's music.
"Re-enacting the pioneer trek across this vast ocean gives me a new
appreciation for all that was sacrificed on my behalf," says Clive Romney of
Enoch Train to the original reason the group was formed. When immigrants
came to America long ago, they carried the music of their homelands in their
hearts. Later, in public gatherings or at church worship services, they sang
this music and shared it within their "melting pot" communities. This music
helped to establish a new musical tradition in a budding nation. Set Sail
continues the tradition and celebrates the diversity of the people of
America by exploring these melodies.
"I hope people will enjoy the music on this album," says Tom Hewitson,
mandolin and guitar player of Enoch Train. "It has been a labor of love and
we are proud to present it to all the world. We are pleased to see that our
music is loved by the European people as well as our fellow Americans."
Enoch Train has become hugely popular. They have had an intense touring
schedule in Utah and were the musical anchor of Sea Trek 2001. Their music
will provide the background to a proposed PBS documentary of Sea Trek. They
also hold three Pearl Awards, awards given for faith-centered and uplifting
music.
Enoch Train continues to demonstrate that music is the universal language.
The music of Enoch Train proves that one ocean isn't enough to keep two
worlds apart.
