DC Business Magazine Looks At Temple Attendance After September 11th
WASHINGTON, DC -- With tourism down everywhere, the Washington
Business Journal tried to see if people are instead going to church,
asking local congregations about their attendance since the terrorist
attacks. Apparently not understanding the difference between an LDS
Temple and a local chapel, reporter Christine Cube contacted Temple
President Sterling Colton, former general counsel for Marriott
International, who told her that attendance at the temple hasn't
changed since the attacks. However, Geoff Howard of the LDS Church's
public affairs office did tell Cube that attendance at the over 20
LDS chapels in the Washington DC area may have changed. However,
those figures weren't available.
